Pre-Construction Termite Management

Whether you are carrying out renovations or an extension to your existing structure ie your home or commercial building or, you are starting a new project, installing termite protection is essential. A physical termite protection system is integrated into a building or structure during the construction phase and is designed to prevent concealed termite entry into a building. In addition to offering another layer of protection against termites, installation is a state and federal requirement set out by the Building Code of Australia and must be compliant to the Australian Standard. On completion of the work by CTS, a Form 43 or Form 12 is supplied which will meet the compliance criteria as set out by your Certifier and council requirements.

To meet the Australian Standard a system or combination of systems may be required and the best protection method for new builds or renovations is dependent on the construction. Your best option is to contact our friendly staff and discuss your project, we may ask for photos or project plans prior to quoting, a site visit by one of our qualified technicians may also be required.

What do I do if I have completed the work and not installed a termite management system?

Don’t worry, there are options if you have already completed your project and not installed a system.

Options that meet the AS3600.1-2014 and Codemark compliance for existing structures and pre-construction termite management systems include;

• Termite management system installation to the perimeter of dwelling or structure using a repellent or non-repellent chemical ie Fipronil or Bifenthrin
• Installation of a reticulation pipework system to soil areas
• Installation of a chemically impregnated polyurethane sheeting
• AlwaysActive monitoring and baiting system installation and maintenance
• Applying an adhesive polymer sealant 
• Installing a chemically impregnated expansion foam
